Strategies in sports

Some strategies in sports seem to backfire because they're really not too successful. In hockey teams will pull the goalie for a fifth skater but this usually results in an empty net goal. Although it has worked it doesn't work too often. In baseball you have the drawn-in infield in order to cut off a run. The hitter usually slaps the ball through the infield and the run scores anyway.

The way hockey is played these days is different than in the past. Teams are looking for fast skaters. There still are fights but not as much as in the days of the Broad st bullies. It hurts your team when your player is in the penalty box. Another key to the game is strong goaltending. Although there are some good goalies out there, they don't compare to guys like Bernie Parent.

performance drugs

I think performance-enhancing drugs don't belong in sports. It is actually a form of cheating when you look at it. Active players who took it before that are not taking it now are seeing their statistics drop.
